Individual therapy, also referred to as psychotherapy or counseling, involves working with a trained therapist in a safe, nurturing, and confidential environment to explore options and solutions to problems or issues that are impacting one’s’ life. Exploring beliefs and feelings, learning to understand and accept themselves and others, challenging ideas, memories, and behaviors, and setting personal goals are means in which the client and therapist work together to exact the changes desired by the client.
